I recently entered to win a prize at the gym I attend. It was a month long contest. Each time I attended the gym, I thought about how I was going to win. I pre planned how I would share my prize. When the final day rolled around I was ready. My family was not surprised when a text confirmed my winning! Truthfully the prize was not going to change my life, but it did make me feel good.
We can all live life enjoying winning moments and abundance.
Here is the deal.. We can all win and experience abundance. It is the attitude we carry with us that dictates a win or not. For example, the fact that I am able to work out in a gym is what I’m really celebrating. Winner or loser, it is all in my mind. I celebrate winning however it comes into my life. I also celebrate winning when it comes into other’s lives. We all have an eternity of personal and global winning moments.
I asked my youngest what he thinks about winning at swim meets. His response was perfect. He considers making his goal times a win. He also loves to do well in an event. It is really all about him loving swimming. As parents we win because we share his joy. He won in the game of life when he found something he gets excited about. I could follow the trail of how we have been winning for years, but you get the picture.
There were many winning moments during the recent flood in Texas. We were able to witness humanity coming together to help each other. People risked their lives to save those in need; Including animals. Observing strangers courageously work together, for a common cause, is a beautiful global win!
Sometimes getting a rejection can be a win. It might not seem so at the moment. Those difficult times or let downs often lead us to where we will thrive. Imagine not getting a job you really wanted. Maybe it will inspire you to return to college where you experience many winning moments and eventually get the dream job.
In my mind we can prepare for winning our entire life. It’s getting excited about every little win that makes way for the big wins. Remember if you believe you deserve to win, you are already preparing for your next win.
Here is one more thought ...
If you are not enjoying something and feel like you are never winning... Does it still belong in your life?
Maybe it’s time to find a different perspective or even a different job, partner etc. We should always hold in our heart the strong possibility of winning. This welcomes gratitude and excitement into our life. A good friend just shared these words, “Anticipation is absolutely lovely”. And so it is.
Enjoy the remaining sunny days. Prayers for all of us to be gently guided into a world of compassion and peace.
